About

Blair Destination Imagination is a parent-run organization founded to support and foster Destination Imagination teams in the Blair-area community.

The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament.

A History of Student Success

Blair DI has many success stories over the years.  Here is one example:

Lillian Knudtson

Participant from 2012-2017

Lillian participated in Destination Imagination starting in her 5th grade year through her freshman year of high school. Though working with teammates can sometimes be challenging when so many great ideas are shared and only a few can be used, she and her teammates have achieved much success over those years. They have become fast friends and attended Global Finals twice in five years.
Kids need time for problem solving, critical thinking, applying knowledge through project-based instruction, working in teams, falling down and getting right back up to figure out what they didn’t understand and why. Randi Weingarten
