Every Destination Imagination team involves several key roles.
Destination Imagination teams are comprised of 2-7 students. We start forming teams at fourth grade and some teams compete through high school. Teams often compete with the same members multiple years, but sometimes new teams are formed every year. Students can join DI at any grade level.
While diversity within a team is important, we try to match teams up within a grade level. This ensures a closer bond and less issues as teams advance in grade level.

Team Managers are adults who help guide the team through the problem-solving process and to teach them necessary skills along the way. They are not there to participate in the process or complete any of the work for the students.
Every DI team must have at least one team manager. Many teams have two team managers.
Competitions require excited adults to appraise the solutions the teams present. While there are many people across the globe who jump in to participate, many more are needed. Every team competing within the Nebraska Affiliate must provide one adult appraiser for both the Regional and Affiliate Final competitions.
The team’s appraiser is a critical component to the team’s success.
